This event was expected as among the more competitive runnings of this unique 7-furlong competition for fillies and mares. Yet, vet checks led to multiple withdrawals this morning, including top contenders Sweet Azteca as well as Tamara.

Consequently, the field looks significantly reduced, but conditioner Bob Baffert stands a strong chance to claim a twentieth Breeders’ Cup victory. His runners include Richi along with Splendora, whereas Hope Road, winner of the Grade One Ballerina Stakes, is viewed as the primary threat.
